If you need to transcode (convert) some other type of video file to XDCAM HD MXF, consider using Telestream's Episode Pro, Flip Factory, or Vantage (or another 3rd party transcoding software). If you want to generate a captioned XDCAM HD MXF file, you must provide a XDCAM HD MXF file as your input video file.

Our captioning software does not transcode the video format from one format to another, nor will it convert other types of video files into MXF or vice versa.

There are other types of MXF, such as XDCAM SD (IMX or DV codec), or P2 with DVCPRO-HD / AVC-Intra, which are not covered by this document. The topics below refer to XDCAM HD MXF files, which are OP1a MXF files containing MPEG-2 codec video.
